The CMSO Board honored three great contributors - each in their own right - an all-star for sure!
John De Simone (referee) retiring after 45 years of service to the game and Central Mass
Paul Mumby (Outstanding Contributor) - as Westborough Girls varsity coach - Paul has contributed to the growth of soccer, its players and coaches inside and outside the white lines of the field!
Dick Guzzi (referee) retiring after 50 years of officiating of service to game that he has brought so much joy to - always smiling and always trusted beyond reproach

All active members must attend the first and second MANDATORY meetings and ONE of the remaining three meetings. If you are unable to attend our MANDATORY meetings, it is your responsibility to attend similar meetings at other boards. A list of boards and contact persons are listed below.

Failure to attend MANDATORY meetings will result in a $50.00 fine per meeting missed. Also failure to make the 3 meeting requirement will result in a $50.00 fine. In order to officiate games this season you MUST register for the background check with the MIAA as outlined in the June 13 email.
Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulation 105 CMR 201.000: Head Injuries and Concussions in Extracurricular Athletic Activities require officials to successfully complete the National Federation of High Schools concussion course. a step by step procedure to acquire the required certificate can be found on our website www.theCMSO.com.

CMSO Recognogizes Bill Martino
Bill Martino has coached a variety of sports at several schools, baseball, basketball, football, cross country and soccer. Bill was honored by the CMSO for his accompliments, tenure and respect academically as well as his personal accomplishemnts. In Bill served a coaching position at Monty Tech and a second stint at Montachusett, which began in 2005. Bill served as the Girls Varsity coach during the initial start of the soccer program many years ago. Sandwiched between the Monty Tech coaching jobs is an eight year tenure at Fitchburg High.
All of Bill's soccer experience has been coaching the girls teams except for his first year of teaching and coaching at Marcus Kiley Jr. High located in Springfield Ma. where he coached the boys. Soccer coaching is the sport which seems to fit best for Bill, he's been at it for twenty five years and plans to continue for a bit longer to extend his teaching experience: M.Kiley Jr High 1yr., N. Middlesex 3 yrs, Monty Tech 31 years. Bill is a graduate of Lunenburg H.S. and Springfield College, B.S., HPER. Graduate of Fitchburg State U., M.Ed. Married Kathleen Comiskey Martino in 1976 to present, two daughters, Meghan born in 1982, and Tess born in 198, the CMSO honors Bill and family now and into the future.
